Was that the last British Grand Prix?

Donington Park chief executive Simon Gillett has admitted the row currently circling Formula One is hurting his attempts to raise the money needed to bring the track up to the required standard to host next year's British Grand Prix.

The Leicestershire circuit is due to begin a 17-year contract to host the race from 2010, but that is conditional on the completion of a massive upgrade at a cost of a reported £80 million.

However, with eight teams comprising the Formula One Teams' Association announcing plans to form a breakaway series on Thursday because of the FIA's plans to introduce a budget cap, Gillett says investors might prove harder to come by.
